Movement Sensor Pad
A key feature of the monitor is its unique sensor pad, designed to sit under the baby’s cot mattress, it monitors and sounds an alarm if no movement has been detected after 20 seconds. Most parents benefit from the sensor pad when their baby is a newborn. Once the child can move freely around the cot, parents can choose to remove the sensor pad and use the monitor as a stand-alone model.
Long Distance Range
The closer to nature digital monitors have a long distance range of up to 300 metres, offering parent’s reassurance from afar and relaying every single sound made by baby to the parent unit whether indoors or outdoors. The monitor also is fitted with an out of range indicator so parents will know if the link is lost.
Two Way Talk Back
The two way talk back feature with volume control on Closer to Nature baby monitors lets you soothe and reassure baby from another room.
Room Temperature Display
The Closer to Nature baby monitors display the temperature in baby's room on both the parent and child unit, with Celsius and Fahrenheit options available.
A gentle night light is built into the closer to nature monitor which is controllable from the parent unit. The night light can be selected to provide a low, medium or high light for a reassuring glow.
Closer to Nature baby monitors come with a paging function to help you relocate a misplaced parent unit.
Rechargeable Docking Station
The parent unit has an easy-to-read LCD display showing the room temperature, a sound level indicator and a rechargeable docking station for flexible and portable use.
How to get started with your Closer to Nature Monitor
Setting up your monitor
Get started by reading through the instruction manual – ensure that the batteries and battery cover are fitted correctly. If the batteries do not make efficient contact, it is possible that the monitor unit will not charge properly.
To ensure correct set up, consumers should make sure all monitor cords are out of reach of the child and that the adapter cable is not stretched across furniture, as this could damage the wiring.
If set up incorrectly, there is a risk that a child could pull the sensor pad cord into crib. Child safety is the most important part of everything Tommee Tippee do, so as a precaution, a free of charge cord cover kit is available to any customer who has bought one of these monitors. Cord cover kit can be ordered directly from the official website.
Intermittent sound information
Ensure the batteries are fully charged and all wires are fully connected and intact. If the power save mode is enabled, the unit will remain silent until a noise is detected, such as baby coughing or crying. In power save mode, background noise such as radio and TV will not be picked up. Power save mode can be disabled by increasing the sensitivity level to Level 5, allowing for constant sound.
Adjusting the sound sensitivity level of the baby unit
The sound sensitivity settings of the baby unit can be changed only when the parent unit is linked with the baby unit. To adjust, press the menu button on the parent unit and then press +/- to go to the sensitivity level menu. Press the menu button and the current sensitivity level will be displayed. Press +/- to adjust the sensitivity level between Level 1 to Level 5.
